take those shoes off this instant

i was up at fourthirty this morning. i was out of the house by five. i was standing under the street lamp stretching and talking to shea on the phone when i saw peaches round the corner just before fivethirty. i said my i love you's to shea, hung up, and then brian and i were off.

once rolling we discussed my fashion inadequacies amongst other things. apparently my life as an ellite road cyclist will be short lived, if it starts at all, if i continue to show up in flannel shirts and "baggy mountain bike shorts." this is something i will have to ponder for a while.

we rode east on bayfront and up seventeenth and up into east hill. we stayed in east hill almost the entire time just riding the rolling hills. a little bit of effort was made to try to keep a conversation going, i was just trying to keep up for the most part. i would go in depth and try to recall the exact route we took, but i know that it would be a waste of time and i would probably just confuse myself, so i will just describe it the most basic way i know how: our ride took us up some hills and then back down some hills. we made a couple left turns and then we made some right turns. eventually we ended up in north hill where brian peeled off and went home and then i rode the last three miles back to my house.

after that i took mable for a walk.

i think it was about 22 miles or so, not counting the dog walk. which put me back at my house before sixthirty this morning.

not a bad start, now if i could just get my fashion squared away....
